Kombucha Benefits

Kombucha tea has been reported to be a cure-all for a wide range of conditions including baldness, insomnia, intestinal disorders, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, and cancer.

Supporters say that Kombucha tea can boost the immune system and reverse the aging process. Kombucha tea is said to contain antioxidants, compounds that block the action of free radicals (activated oxygen molecules that can damage cells).

Kombucha, among other things, produces significant amounts of glucuronic acid, which along with the glucuronic acid normally produced by the liver, has the capacity to bind itself to the waste products of metabolism and to foreign toxic substances (e.g. tobacco, pollution, drugs, etc.), make them water soluble, and isolate them until it carries them out of the body. Kombucha’s capacity to synthesize glucuronic acid is remarkable and valuable, considering that other means to achieve this synthesis have been difficult to devise.

A few side effects have been reported at the beginning of drinking the tea. But Its perfectly natural, its your body releasing unwanted toxins from your system. It might help to drink the tea in small amounts, gradually increasing the amount. Eventually for you to benefit from the tea 150ml three times a day is recommended. While doing this make sure to drink lots of water to flush the toxins out of your system.

Kombucha and Cancer

For people with cancer, proponents claim the tea can detoxify (cleanse) the body and enhance the immune system thereby improving the body’s defenses, especially in the early stages of cancer. After the body is cleansed, the tea is said to help repair and balance the body, and fight off disease.

In the first half of the 20th century, extensive scientific research was done on Kombucha in Russia and Germany, mostly because of a push to find a cure for rising cancer rates. Russian scientists discovered that entire regions of their vast country were seemingly immune to cancer and hypothesized that the kombucha, called “tea kvass” there, was the cause. So, they began a series of experiments which not only verified the hypothesis, but began to pinpoint exactly what it is within kombucha which was so beneficial.

In order to increase the detoxifying abilities of the tea, people are told to remove chemicals from their diets and eat only fresh fruits and vegetables. They are also told to avoid caffeine, soft drinks, alcohol, hormone-fed meat, fertilized or sprayed foods, preservatives, artificial coloring and flavoring, and to quit smoking.

Even Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the recently deceased Russian author and nobel-prize winner, in his autobiography, claimed that Kombucha Tea cured his stomach cancer during his internment in soviet labor camps. (And because of this testimony, President Reagan used Kombucha to halt the spread of his cancer in 1987. You’ll note he didn’t die until 2004, and that was from old age, NOT cancer.)
